In Deuteronomy 7:1-2, God instructed His people to utterly destroy their enemies. Tehy were to show no mercy. When God tells us it is time to deal with our negative, faithless attitudes, it is time to throw way our excuses. No more rationalizing, “Well, everybody else is negative; why should I be any different?”

Get some things over with in your life today. Get rid of bad habits and negative attitudes and move on with the future God has for you. Pray: “Lord, please help me to change. Show me the root of my problem and how to get over it. I want positive changes in my life.” – Joyce Meyer

5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

Be careful when somebody makes a suggestion that sounds good; not every good idea is a God-idea. Don’t rush into making a decision or accepting a new responsibility without praying about it first.

Slow down long enough to ask God for wisdom, and listen for His guidance. Take a little bit of time to see if you have peace about the idea. If you don’t have peace, you don’t even have to understand why you don’t have peace. Just don’t do it.

“I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat. You ask “What is our policy?” I will say it is to wage war by sea, land and air, with all our might & with all the strength God can give us. That is our policy. You ask “What is our aim?” I can answer in one word. It is Victory. Victory at all costs. Victory in spite of all terror. Victory however long and hard the road may be; for without Victory, there is no survival.

All of those attributes should be true of God’s people in the spiritual sense. As believers, we have purpose and direction, we know where we’re going, and we know how to get there. This gives us confidence as we go about fulfilling God’s call in our lives. When this kind of confidence is evident to others, the lost will look to us for direction.

God has always maintained a presence on earth so that people could find Him. His first light for the world was the nation of Israel (Isa. 42:6). Then Solomon prayed that God’s great name would draw people to Himself (1 Kings 8:41-43). The light of the Jewish nation culminated in Jesus, “the light of the world” (John 9:5). And now, followers of Jesus are to be the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). As such, it is our responsibility to show people the way to be reconciled to God (2 Cor 5:18).

To lead others our of the darkness of sin, let them see your light.

As we’ve ended a good year, we move forward to an even greater year. The Victory Outreach City Church/Rogers Park Breakthrough Group would like to wish you and your family a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We are approaching this year head on. Reaching the lost and hurting in the Rogers Park Community with the message of hope and the plan of Jesus Christ. We’ld like to extend an invitation to you to join us as we go out into our community and put love to action as the Bible says in John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

This is one of the passages we went over last night. When I heard v.29 the word that automatically jumped out to me was “granted”. I sat there and continued thinking I’ve been granted, I’ve been granted, I’ve been granted this awesome privileged to believe in Christ.

Synonyms for privileged are benefit, entitlement, favor, liberty, opportunity and advantage. When you think of all the different definitions of these words in opens are minds to understanding how special we are to God. Every day we should look at it as an opputurnity to be an awe of God, His Wonders, His Powers, His Creations, His Miracles. All around you God is doing something, He’s crafting every situation, and circumstance for a purpose. Why you ask? because you have favor.

Challenge:
Today take a step back to bask in awe of God and what He’s doing in your life right now and then give Him thanks for those things that have not come to pass yet.

Prayer:
Father we thank you in the name of Jesus for your awesome wonder, we thank you for allowing us the honor to be part of a greater plan and purpose. We thank you that every day we can wake up in amazement of what your doing even thought we don’t know the outcome. We thank you Lord that you are with us and have granted us the priviledge in sharing in belief and in suffering. To you be all the Glory and the Honor. In Jesus Name I pray Amen!
